Every time of year is suitable for a new beginning, depending on your state of mind and your environment. Now is perhaps the best time for you to reset the counters of your body and your mind by putting your body into “detox” mode. Here are our 5 basic rules!
WHAT IS DETOX?
Throughout the year and especially during winter, our body accumulates toxins. Stress, pollution, an unbalanced diet… all these factors constitute mini-aggressions for the body. It then stores them in the form of waste which can influence its proper functioning. This is why it is not uncommon to feel more stress and fatigue after the long winter months. The immune system can also be impacted, as well as the digestive system or even the quality of the skin (pimples, dark circles, etc.)
Detox therefore allows us to evacuate all this waste in order to “cleanse” our body and our mind. It can be implemented in different ways and certain simple gestures allow you to integrate it into your daily routine. Follow the leader !
1. SPRING CLEANING
Before cleaning your body, we advise you to clean your living space. Block out a day or two during which you can clean everything from top to bottom! You can start this spring cleaning by sorting through your belongings. We all accumulate objects at home that we end up using very little, if at all. By taking up space in our home, these objects also end up unnecessarily cluttering our minds. Spring cleaning is therefore a perfect opportunity to get rid of them by throwing them away, donating them or selling them. For example, you can register for the garage sale organized by Ma petite Madelaine on Sunday June 9! All the information is in our dedicated article.
2. EAT BALANCED
Eating healthy throughout the year helps prevent the accumulation of toxins, whether they are produced by our body during digestion or provided by the food itself. No need to deprive yourself, just eat a variety of foods and respect a simple rule as much as possible: a balanced plate should consist of half vegetables, a quarter meat or other source of protein and a quarter starchy foods. We advise you to favor “homemade” and organic products whenever possible, and to eat seasonal fruits and vegetables. You can also drink green tea or matcha tea, both known for their detoxifying properties. If you want to deepen your detox or achieve other specific goals, you can also consult a nutritionist who will give you appropriate advice.
3. ESTABLISH MOMENTS OF RELAXATION
The frenzy of everyday life sometimes makes us forget that it is important to take moments for ourselves. For example, we invite you to set up an hour per week during which you can put on soft music in your bathroom and light a few candles, take a bubble bath or a long shower, give yourself a scrub and a moisturizing mask. A sort of mini spa at home that you can obviously adapt according to your schedule and your obligations. These moments of relaxation will allow you to recharge your batteries and will do as much good for your body as for your mind. Do not hesitate to come to Beauty Full Days to receive beauty advice and obtain the products adapted to your needs.
4. EXERCISE REGULARLY
It’s no secret that sport has many virtues. It strengthens the heart, regulates tension, tones, helps relieve stress and even improves intellectual performance. Sport is also an excellent way to detoxify your body since sweating helps flush out toxins. For this, we particularly recommend endurance sports, such as running or cycling. Don’t forget to get quality sports shoes so you don’t get injured, as well as cute, comfortable outfits that will help motivate you. You can go to Intersport, Fitness Boutique or Nike where you will find a wide choice of sports clothing and equipment!
5. PRACTICE MEDITATION
Meditation is a great way to detoxify your mind and take care of your mind. Among other things, it helps reduce stress, improve concentration, memory and creativity. Meditation sessions don’t need to be long, they just need to be regular: 10 minutes a day can be enough. To meditate, you can sit in a quiet place and try to focus only on your breathing for these 10 minutes. At first, it may seem difficult not to let your thoughts wander too much, and that’s completely normal. Various mobile applications can then help you with guided meditation sessions.
